Beginning Farmers

So, you want to start a farm? Lucky for you, there are a lot of great resources available for NY aspiring farmers to get hands-on training.

You will absolutely need some practical, hands-on farming experience before starting your farm. You can seek out a formal apprenticeship training program or find a job on a farm near you. Some organizations and job boards we like include:​
