CADE Definition of Wholesale Ready: Wholesale ready means that as a producer you currently have or have the capacity to build out: up to date spec sheets of product availability and pricing, clear and consistent sorting and packaging, i.e. "standard pack guidelines", product traceability, ordering and invoicing systems in place, and have a positive track record of meeting deadlines and deliveries.

We're excited you're interested!

  • Have opportunity to provide input to CADE on pressing market research needs

  • Receive at least 10 hours of CADE support and technical assistance which may include but is not limited to: business or financial planning development; value-chain development and matchmaking; crop planning; on farm standard operating procedures; wholesale readiness; website or e-commerce design, branding or marketing consultation; access to capital and grant writing; other identified needs during onboarding process

  • Quarterly learning opportunities specific to emerging markets and farm to institution, estimated at approximately 5 hours 

  • Have 1:1 access to successful farm to institution enterprises, wholesale farmers, buyers, food hubs, distributors, institutional kitchen staff and more

  • Mentorship program with quarterly calls or virtual meet ups to network and share knowledge of your experience tapping into emerging markets

  • Pending proven commitment to EMTP Program: Certification Scholarship:  needs to enter wholesale market; available only after proven commitment to program 

EMTP Registered Farmers Will:

  • Farms in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Fulton, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego, Schoharie, Tioga, and/or Tompkins counties OR are a BIPOC farmer in NYS with an interest in being wholesale ready by 2023

  • Must be willing to commit to approximately 15 hours of scheduled calls, meetings, visits, workshops and/or webinars with CADE to support goal to be wholesale ready or expanded by 2023

  • Over the course of the one-year program, participants must be willing to commit to approximately 50 hours of self-driven work to scale your business to be wholesale ready or expanded by 2023

  • Open to hosting (with stipend/payment and organizational support by CADE) institutional visits as part of our EMTP-Institutional Training and/or host other farms to share practices

  • Must be willing to provide baseline data, complete workshop evaluations, and biannual surveys; Willing to share experiences (on a panel, in call, surveys, etc.) for year two recruitment of program 

Who is eligible to participate?

In order for CADE to provide effective business support to clients whom we serve, all CADE employees, Board members, interns, and consultants are bound by confidentiality not to disclose information provided by clients without their permission. Such information may include: annual gross revenue, income, sales, names of buyers, recipes, legal information or other sensitive information.

We invite you to fill out our confidentiality form to comfortably provide the registration information requested below, and all program participants will be bound by CADE's Client Confidentiality, Privacy Policy and Metric Requirement which is described in detail at the link above.
