Glynwood Hudson Valley Farm Business Incubator
Glynwood's Hudson Valley Farm Business Incubator in New Paltz, NY, is an ideal stepping stone for farmers ready to build their own farm enterprises, offering access to low-cost land, equipment, infrastructure and housing. By working one-on-one with farmers on business and financial planning, technical skills and eventual land tenure transition, the HVFBI is taking a longer view on supporting a new generation of farmers in the region, equipping its participants with the tools and guidance to get there.
The program is aimed at candidates who have 2-3 years farming experience in internships, apprenticeships, or jobs and who are looking to take the leap to start their own enterprise in a low-risk, well-supported environment. Open to livestock producers and/or mixed vegetable operations, the complete program is 3.5 years. Applicants not in need of land are also encouraged to apply and, if accepted, will be fully engaged in all aspects of the program alongside residential members of their cohort.
Initial applications are due December 1, 2016, with the program beginning in early May 2107. More information on the site and program can be found here. Please email us for more information or if you have any questions.
