CADE's "Access to Capital" workshop for farm and food business entrepreneurs is a presentation about grants and loans available to farming entities and agricultural businesses. The workshop is ideal for entrepreneurs looking for capital in the next 30-60 days to start, operate, or expand their farm or agriculture business.

The workshop will feature presentations from agencies and organizations offering various types of funding for farmers. The USDA-Farm Service Agency, a government lending agency, will talk about different types of grants and low-interest loans they offer to farmers and agricultural business owners. Representatives from KIVA, a non-profit that has helped more than 700+ small businesses secure funding in NY, will explain how to crowdfund a 0% interest, no-fee loan of up to $10,000, and how to use their services as a platform for brand visibility and customer connections. Workshop participants will also be introduced to the New Farmers Grant, a matching grant provided by New York State to support beginning farmers (within 10 years of operation) who have chosen farming as a career and who materially and substantially participate in the production of an agricultural product on their farm.

The workshop is free. Pre-registration is required by contacting CADE’s Program Manager Corey Luchetta via email at corey@cadefarms.org.
