Social Media Workshop: Using Social for Your Farm Business

Whether your farm and farm business is selling product directly to the consumer or are hosting events on the farm, the workshop will focus on how social media can support your business efforts. Lisa Wisely from Blue Spark Creative Services who works with a variety of farming businesses and organizations including CADE, Farming Bovina, Cowbella by Bovina Valley as well as Delaware County Tourism and Delaware County Economic Development will share insight on using social media for your farm and farm business marketing.

Topics will include:

  • The state of social media at this time, what are the platforms and who is using them.

  • How we can use social media to reach your target audience.

  • How people are using social media to convert viewers into buyers.

  • Easy ways to develop content for your business

  • The best ways your business can use easy tools to spread the word about your business.

  • The ways social media advertising can help you grow your audience.

We will look at some examples of what is working in the social space and what is not working. There will be time for questions and answers as well.

Farm Insurance Workshop

Please gather at the CADE offices for a special insurance focusing on insurance farm business of all sorts.

This workshop will touch on all farm insurance needs, with plenty of time for Questions and Answers with insurance agent Cecil Davis from The Bramley Agency in Delhi, New York.

This workshop will also include discussions on agritourism insurance, workers compensation, disability, product liability and other important insurance requirements related to farm businesses. If you need anything please let me know.

This is the third and final session in the three-part Added Value Dairy Track. We will begin this session with an overview of our previous sessions. Farmers will bring product packaging and label ideas to this session and learn more about packaging requirements and costs. Farmers will have the opportunity to share their packaging ideas with a panel of design and market experts and use the Business Canvas Models to refine their product mix and business plans.

CADE: QuickBooks Session 2- Tracking Inventory, Production, & Markets

This is the second session in a three-part workshops series on QuickBooks and bookkeeping for farmers. Farmers will review the previous session’s concepts and then work on creating Items, Accounts and Classes to track inventory, expenses and sales categories. The details of how one sets up these subcategories is critical to being able to analyze your business and improve profitability.

CADE & Farm Commons: Legal Session for Small Farm & Food Business

Farm Commons is a non-profit dedicated to providing farmers with the legal resources needed to comply and succeed as agricultural entrepreneurs. In June, CADE hosted a private training for grant recipients for which Rachel Armstrong of Farm Commons led a day-long interactive learning session. The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive! 

A November 2nd, half-day session has been scheduled so that our larger farming and food community can access the same valuable information for their businesses!
