The Master Gardener Program’s "Spring Lecture Series" is a great opportunity for gardeners of any level of experience, especially those who were unable to attend our annual Garden Day event. Each class will be held from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at our Education Center, 232 Plaza Road, Kingston, NY 12401.
May 31, 2017 Organic Weed and Pest Control:
Even the best organic gardeners have some pest problems. Learn how to control pests and weeds organically by focusing on preventing problems and creating a natural balance to keep pests at bay. Cecily Frazier will teach organic strategies like building up healthy soil to strengthen plants, as well as cultural, biological, physical and chemical controls for gardeners in their ongoing struggle with critters and weeds.
June 7, 2017 Easy Maintenance Plant Choices:
Wouldn’t it be nice to spend more of your time sipping iced tea in your garden then toiling away the hours nurturing demanding plants? Diane Backus will share her hard-won knowledge and experience to guide you in choosing the best low maintenance, no-fuss plants that will deliver a beautiful garden and less work for you.
June 21, 2017 Succession Planting for Pollinators:
The importance of a colorful, buzzing, chirping, and varied pollinator garden cannot be over-emphasized! Learn the tools of the trade to choose, plant and maintain a pollinator friendly garden that will bloom from spring through the first frost of winter.
Registration: $15/person, per class. Save and attend all classes for just $40 for all 3 classes! Pre-registration is required by the Friday before each class.
