December 5-6, 2017
In collaboration with Cornell University, SUNY Cobleskill welcomes to our campus trainers for a Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training Course and Farm Food Safety Plan Writing Workshop. This training is targeted to fruit and vegetable growers and others who are interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and co-management of natural resources. Anyone interested in produce safety is encouraged to attend.
The PSA Grower Training Course is one way to satisfy the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement outlined in § 112.22(c) that requires ‘At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.’
Day One – PSA Grower Training Course covers basic Good Agricultural Practices and outlines FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements.
Day Two - Participants will work with templates to develop their own farm food safety plan.
PSA Course Only: $65 ($150 non-NY resident) December 5, 2017
PSA Course Plus Farm Safety Plan: $90 ($180 non-NY resident) December 5 & 6, 2017
