Using Gardens to Teach

Each year, Poughkeepsie Farm Project offers Using Gardens to Teach, a summer institute designed to help educators integrate gardens into their teaching. They cover topics in literacy, social studies, science, math, and nutrition, as well as build knowledge about sustainable agriculture, food systems, social justice, and ecological gardening practices. Join for three days of hands-on learning

At this year's institute, Poughkeepsie Farm Project is providing three days (21 hours) of professional development on garden-based instruction for educators of youth in the primary grades (pre-kindergarten through grade 3), as well as skill-building in hands-on gardening and garden-building.
