Food Waste for Animal Feed: SparCs Information Session

  • Quarter Moon Cafe 53 Main Street Delhi, NY, 13753 United States

Baldor Specialty Foods operates its Fresh Cut facility at its headquarters in the Bronx, New York. In this Fresh Cuts facility, Baldor cuts fruit and vegetables into a variety of shapes for sale to retail and food service customers. As a result of this production, they have food products available or SparCs (scraps spelled backwards), which may be of interest as feed for animals. Baldor captures this product in 900 pound totes, and collects fruit and vegetable in separate totes. This product is a fresh, healthy alternative to traditional feed and can be offered as a valuable feed all year.

Please join Thomas McQuillan from Baldor on Thursday, June 16th at 12:00pm at Quarter Moon Cafe in Delhi, for a presentation of these products and the opportunity to receive this product from Baldor. Thomas will also be available in the afternoon to visit your farm if time permits.
