Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture presents the Young Farmers Conference as a part of their Growing Farmers Initiative. In year's past over 200 aspiring and beginning farmers have attended the conference. Workshop proposals will be accepted until June 13th. Past workshops have included topics such as soil health, agricultural policy, and marketing.
This year, registration for the conference will be by lottery. Beginning farmers (farming 10 years or less) will be given registration preference. Lottery registration will open at 9:00 am on September 6 and close at 5:00 pm on September 19.
Stone Barns Center offers a limited number of scholarships to this year’s conference, for farmers who otherwise would not be able to attend. The application process will open at 9:00 am on August 1 and close at 5:00 pm on August 10.
