Project time frame: January 1, 2008 - December 31, 2008
Ten Central New York producers have teamed up with CADE to implement the Value-Added Local Food Promotion and Campaign project. Together, we have identified key barriers to success and solutions to increase profitability. CADE consultants and staff will work with these 10 producers to revise and/or develop marketing, business or operational plans; collaborate marketing plans in order to improve probability of success; and, increase profitability by increasing gross sales, opening new market outlets, decrease distribution costs, and promote locally produced food through educational events. The development of a "product portfolio" will be used to help market the group collectively, increasing their size and depth of product. This portfolio is available upon request from the CADE office by contacting Sarah Manchester.
